Welcome back to all our wonderful children!
We have missed you all so much!
On Monday 8th March 2021, the children were reunited with all their class friends. They brought their special Dalton Bears to school dressed in colourful items. They had party to celebrate being back together and enjoyed some yummy party food and a Rainbow ice-cream.
The children have been busy getting creative, they helped the Reception and year one children build a very big castle using cardboard and lots of other materials.
They have enjoyed making Swords and Shields too.
Ryder enjoyed using a sponge to create stone bricks for our castle.
Teddy ordered numbers 1-11 he only needed a little bit of support! Well Done Teddy!
Numeracy
The children have enjoyed exploring our wiggly math snakes, we have learned lots of new mathematical words and the children were able to match the snakes to the correct length on each card.
Pudsey number hunt
The Nursery children had lots of fun hunting the school playground for numbered Pudsey bears. They were very excited when they found them.
Pudsey Day!
Everyone enjoyed taking part in raising Money for Pudsey day. The children wore something yellow and loved creating their own Pudsey mask .

Nursery have had lots of fun exploring some musical instruments, learning the instruments names and listening to the sounds they make. We also found ways to make our own music. The children compared the instruments to different sounds they could find on the playground. Some of the children created their own drumkit too.
Nursery 2021
This Term our topic is 'Transport'.
The children have already been learning lots of new things about how we travel. They have enjoyed different activities based on transport, we have read a few different stories and watched some clips about how we travel. The children have enjoyed playing with our new cars and diggers too. Have a look at some of the exciting things they have been doing.
World book day
The children had such a lovely day celebrating world book day. They all arrived wearing their pyjamas and brought their favourite book. We read the story how to catch a star by Oliver Jeffers. The children really enjoyed riding around the school playground on bikes trying to catch all the stars that where drawn on the floor with chalk.

Nursery 2021 4.1.21
Spring Term (Topic)
This term the children are focusing on polar regions and under the sea and looking at their habitats.
Over the next 6 weeks we will be reading and focusing our activities on these books:

Exploring the snow
We have been outside in short spells to explore the snow. The children have really enjoyed making mini snowmen, making snow pies in the mud kitchen, using a stick to practise their name and making different patterns in the snow and have also found some animal tracks. We tried to work out which animal might have left their footprints in the snow on our school yard.
Lost and found by Oliver Jeffers
We are reading the story Lost and found. The children have enjoyed lots of different activities based on the story and have loved exploring our lost and found sensory tray.
Weekly Yoga Sessions
Every Wednesday morning the children take part in a 20 minute Yoga session with a lady called Ellie, their listening skills are super and they are amazing at following Ellie doing all the different Yoga poses!
A letter from Father Christmas!
The children in Nursery class received a letter all the way from the North Pole!
Father Christmas also sent us a video which the children watched excitedly.

Nursery Sports Day 2021
Our sports day was a success! The children had lots of fun taking part in all activities.

The children made me so proud, they had super listening throughout our sports day and they all took part. Here are a few videos of the children doing different races.
We really hope next year parents and carers will be able to come and watch, even though we all had lots of fun it just wasn't the same without you all there.
The children have been watching a live Panda cam at Edinburgh zoo. Ethan created a home for a panda using stickle bricks.
Mark Making
The children mark make everyday. We encourage mark making in as many ways possible and the children love getting involved in all different kinds of mark making activities.
Big News
Two very cheeky and naughty Elves came to our school this week! The children had no idea this was happening and it was such an amazing surprise for them.
