Experimenting with different ingredients
The children enjoyed exploring different ingredients they watched as the vinegar mixed with the bicarbonate of soda. They described the mixture as fluffy clouds and like a rainbow. They also used their senses to smell the ingredients, some of the children really liked the vinegar smell they said its smelt like chips, but others said it was stinky and yucky.
Lilia wanted to read Superworm to me, what a lovely retell of the story. Well done Lilia.
Bug Hotel
The children helped class one create a bug house, they painted some letters to create a sign, and they stuffed the bug hotel with lots of leaves and things for the bugs to enjoy.
World Book Day
3.3.2022
We have had so much fun today. We have explored tuff trays relating to different books. The children have had a go at a scavenger hunt looking for different things in lots of different books then ticking them off on their worksheet, they really loved doing this. Mrs Sherwood came to school as little red riding hood she brought lots of cookies for the children for snack time which they children where very excited about. we used play dough to try and make characters from different stories too.
In the afternoon the whole school got together in our school hall, we worked in different groups to create dens. once built the children enjoyed sitting in their dens reading stories to each other. they had so much fun.
Play-dough
Nursery and Reception class worked together to make some home made play-dough, they had super listening skills and they followed step by step instructions very well, some of the Reception children had a go at reading the instructions themselves by using their phonic knowledge.
Once the play-dough was made we did some fun dough disco videos on YouTube.
Our Nursery children have been busy practising Jingle bells, here is their little performance.
Please note they are also involved in the infants Nativity too which you will find on class one's page.
