Class three

Welcome to Years 5/6 with Mrs Britton and Mrs Holmes. The class is made up of 7 boys and 8 girls. The year 6 children wear royal blue jumpers whilst the year 5 are in burgundy. The children in this class have many responsibilities from class monitors to year group monitors; playground leaders to worship and school council members.

Homework is generally given on Thursdays and is expected to be handed back to the class teacher by Tuesday of the following week. All children have weekly spellings to learn from Monday of each week and the children are tested on Fridays. There is a national expectation that all children of years five and six should know all their multiplication tables which in turn helps greatly with their daily maths lessons. Children are encouraged to read for 10 minutes every night which once again benefits their ability to read, respond to texts as well as to spell well. If I can help with anything relating to your child/ren and their learning please contact the school office or communicate
